He was previously CEO of the Business Groups Lighting Electronics business group and Automotive & Special Lighting. He was recently involved in the dissolvement of the Components Division and the relocation of a number of activities in that context.
Mr. Van Deursen joined Philips in 1973 after graduating in Electronics and Business Administration at Eindhoven Technical University. Since then, he has worked for the company around the world in a number of (latterly key management) positions.
In 1985 he graduated from IMD's Executive MBA program in Switzerland and, five years later, complemented this study with an Executive MBA from the University of Virginia in the US.
Mr. Van Deursen is married, with two children. His hobbies include photography, wine, food and traveling.
