Philips and TPV Technology to create world’s leading display partnership
Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Hong Kong, PRC - Royal Philips Electronics and TPV Technology Limited have signed a Letter of Intent to create the most competitive partnership in PC monitor and entry level Flat TV segments. Per the agreement, TPV will take over the responsibility of Philips’ existing OEM Monitor business, and Philips will focus on the marketing and sales of its own branded monitor and Flat TV products. Philips is contributing assets and resources to TPV on these activities. The combination of TPV and Philips’ PC monitor and entry level Flat TV business will create the global leader in the display products manufacturing market.

Philips to begin pilot study of TV-based solution to help patients manage their health from home
Andover, Massachusetts, USA - Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) today announced that it has launched a pilot study to test a secure, personalized healthcare communication platform that connects chronic disease patients at home to their care providers through their television. Philips will be testing this platform - called Motiva - this fall with the Cardiovascular Associates of the Delaware Valley (CADV), a US-based physicians' group providing complete cardiovascular care to patients. Comcast Corporation will support the pilot study by providing an IP data connection that enables patients participating in the study to communicate with CADV interactively and receive personalized information. The pilot study will test how well patients use a TV-based healthcare platform as well as the extent to which patients and healthcare providers adapt to this new type of interactive healthcare delivered over broadband.

Royal Philips Electronics and Chief Executive share commitment in hi-tech business

Philips to acquire leading USA electronics accessories supplier Gemini
Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Clifton, NJ, United States - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) and Gemini Industries, Inc., the leading North American supplier of consumer electronics and PC accessories, announced today that they have signed an agreement under which Philips will acquire Gemini.
