Mr. Hartert (1958, German) graduated in Computer Science and Business Administration in 1986.
In the first six years of his professional career, Mr. Hartert held various technical positions with Robert Bosch GmbH and VLSI Technology GmbH in Munich.In 1992 he joined Bertelsmann AG of Germany to become the IT Director of its European music business. In 1995, he moved to New York to become the International CIO of Bertelsmann Music Group before returning to Germany four years later to fill the position of Bertelsmann CIO and member of the Executive Board of Bertelsmann's Direct Group. In 2001, Mr. Hartert set up an IT business for Bertelsmann offering IT services to the market and, in this capacity, was a member of the Executive Board of Arvato, the Services Division of Bertelsmann. He joined Philips as CIO and Head of Corporate IT in April 2002.
Mr. Hartert is married, with three children. His hobbies include tennis, football, music, nature and the outdoor life.
