Philips Blu-ray gets the most out of your Flat TV

Hong Kong – With consumers realizing the High Definition format war is over and driven by an ever increasing adoption of HD capable Flat TVs, Blu-ray is assumed to grow significantly in 2009. Building on its globally leading role in the DVD player market, Philips seeks to satisfy this increasing consumer demand for a cinematic experience by launching a competitive range of Philips developed Blu-ray players.

With this range, Philips is truly pushing the boundaries in picture quality and sound experience, starting with the introduction of the new Philips BDP7300 Blu-ray player in June 2009, closely followed by the also new BDP3000 Blu-ray players.

Maximizing the HD experience

The new Philips Blu-ray players maximize the HD experience by offering both superb picture and sound quality. They support delivering Blu-ray movies using the 1080p progressive scan format at the same amount of frames per minute (24fps) as used in the cinema, with exceptional detail, sharpness and color saturation.

However, it’s not only Blu-ray movies that benefit as the new Philips Blu-ray range will also bring new life to your existing DVD collection by up scaling your DVDs to near high definition quality, allowing you to enjoy them like never before.

And what is a great movie without great sound? The Philips BDP7300 supports a great surround sound experience, decoding all the 7.1 channel lossless high definition audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. In combination with sophisticated Philips video artifact removal algorithms and 3D noise reduction systems that take care of any possible remaining disturbances to the picture quality, Philips provides a truly immersive cinematic experience.

Next to playing Blu-ray and DVD, the entire new range is DivX Ultra Certified and will play all commonly used formats as well, including WMV, MP3, WMA and JPG. On the Philips BDP7300 these are conviently accessible using the High Speed USB 2.0 port on the front of the player. Last but not least, the BDP7300 and BDP3000 will also allow you to enjoy your own HD camcorder recordings in the AVCHD format in full HD quality.

All new Philips Blu-ray players support BD-Live functionality.
