The blue light is blinking on my Philips Steam Generator Iron

Published on 06 April 2023
If the iron ready light on your Philips Steam Generator Iron is blinking blue, please read our troubleshooting advice below to solve this.

The blue light is blinking

There are two different causes if you see a light blinking blue on your iron. Please follow one of the steps below based on the reaction of the light:
  • If there is a blue light blinking on the handle of your iron before you start ironing, this means your Philips Steam Generator Iron is heating up. When the iron has heated up, the light will stay on continuously.
Note: If the blue light keeps blinking for more than 5 minutes and none of the below mentioned situations apply, then your iron may have a defect. In this case, contact us for further assistance.

  •  If the blue light is blinking on the handle or base of the iron in between use this means that you iron is at auto shut-off status. Depending on the model of your iron, please press the steam trigger again or the ON/OFF button to switch it back on.

The blue light is moving back and forth

If the blue light on your iron’s handle is moving back and forth while ironing, this is normal. It means that you are using the intelligent automatic steam mode. To exit this mode, press the 'intelligent automatic steam' button on top of the handle of your iron.

Note: This solution applies only to irons equipped with intelligent automatic steam mode.

PerfectCare Aqua and AquaPro models only

If the blue ‘iron ready’ light is flashing quickly in your Philips Steam Generator Iron, this means the water container is empty. Fill in the water container with water and press the steam trigger. Once the iron ready light turn steady blue, you can use your iron again.
