What common unlocking methods does the Philips smart door lock support?

How to access master mode?

There are two methods available to access the master mode. For specific instructions, please refer to the actual product.
(1) Long press ‘#’, enter the master PIN code, and then press ‘#’ to enter master mode.
(2) Double-tap *, enter the master PIN code, and then press ‘#’ to enter master mode.


 

What do the indicators mean in different colors?

Blue: when the system is awake, the door lock indicator turns blue, indicating that you can perform operations on the door lock.
Green: after successful unlocking, the door lock indicator turns green, indicating the door is open.
Red: after the door is successfully locked, the door lock status indicator turns red, indicating that the door is closed. The smile indicator also turns red when the door lock triggers an alert.
 

What if I forgot the master PIN code?

Double-press theRESbutton on the interior assembly, and you will hear a system prompt saying, 'Factory settings restored; The PIN code is too simple. Please promptly modify the master PIN code'. (Note: restoring the lock to default settings will erase all stored fingerprints, PIN codes, and key tag information.)
 

Can facial recognition distinguish between twins?

In general, it is quite challenging, especially with identical twins. Due to their nearly identical genetics, identical twins have very similar appearances, which can lead to potential misidentifications in facial recognition, especially at longer distances. Additionally, in the mobile phone industry, facial recognition modules may struggle to differentiate between twins within a 0.5-meter range. Given the relatively low occurrence of twins and their typical familial relationships, the security threat to users is relatively small. If security concerns persist, it is advisable to activate dual verification mode, verifying both facial features and other unlocking methods such as fingerprints or PIN codes.
 

How to use dual verification mode or security mode?

Dual verification mode, also known as security mode, can be enabled or disabled in the master mode following voice prompts. Once dual verification is activated, the door lock requires the use of two enrolled unlocking methods for access, such as fingerprint + PIN code, PIN code + key tag, fingerprint + key tag, PIN code + facial ID, and more. To activate dual verification mode, users must enroll at least two or more distinct unlocking methods.
 

What is hidden PIN code?

The hidden PIN code, also known as Anti-Peeping Code, allows users to add multiple digits before and after the correct PIN code. By ensuring that the middle digits form a consecutively correct PIN code, it confuses onlookers, preventing them from confirming the actual PIN code.
 

How long will the batteries last?

The data provided below is based on internal testing, and the actual battery life may be shortened due to factors such as product usage frequency and network connection stability.
Bluetooth and standalone/non-connected lock: approximately 10 months with 4 pieces of alkaline AA batteries.
WiFi lock: approximately 6 months with 4 pieces of alkaline AA batteries.
Facial recognition lock: approximately 10 months with 8 pieces of alkaline AA batteries.
Video lock with no screen: approximately 3 months of standby time with 1 Li-polymer battery.
Video lock with screen: approximately 2 months of standby time with 1 Li-polymer battery.
 

How to do preventive maintenance?

 (1) Regularly use a soft, clean cloth to wipe the surface of the door lock, ensuring it stays clean and shiny over the long term. Avoid using water, alcohol, or corrosive chemicals to clean the door lock surface to prevent damage or corrosion.
 (2) Do not mix alkaline batteries of different brands or use new and used batteries together. Periodically check the batteries for oxidation, and if any is found, promptly replace them to prevent battery leakage and corrosion of the internal lock structure.
