Are there any side effects when I use BlueTouch?

Published on 2017-05-05

Philips BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch offers a drug-free way to treat back pain using blue light and warmth. Find out about potential side effects:

Side effects

  • It is normal for the skin to become a little red during BlueTouch treatment. This skin redness is caused by increased blood circulation due to the warmth of the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch. This skin redness is harmless and fades after the treatment has ended
  • In some cases light tanning may be visible after treatment. This tanning can be caused either by the light (a similar effect as that caused by exposure to sunlight) or by the warmth. It is typically harmless and fades away on its own (this may take several weeks to months). Postpone treatment until the tanning has disappeared. To prevent tanning, resume treatment in a lower mode and avoid excessive pressure on the BlueTouch Pain Relief Patch during treatment, for example by sitting or lying on it or by leaning heavily against it
