There is no sound from my Philips portable radio

Check whether the device is switched on
Adjust the sound volume to an audible level
Remove the headphone from the headphone jack on the back of the device
If you use the battery to provide energy:
- Make sure the batteries are fresh ones and not mixed with different type
- Check the polarity of the inserted batteries to align with marks in the battery compartment
