I have forgotten my Philips TV 4-digit pin code. How to reset it?

Published on 2016-12-29

The PIN-codes for the digital and analogue mode are independent of one another. Changing one will not affect the other.

If you have not set your personal 4-digit pin code when you first turned on the TV set, you need to do this before you can use the child lock feature.

If you have forgotten your pin code or need to set it for the first time, proceed as follows:

To set / change the PIN-code in digital mode:

  1. In digital mode, press the [Digital menu] button on the remote control to access the setup menu
  2. Press the cursor [Down] to select [Access restrictions] and press the cursor [Right]
  3. When the prompt PLEASE ENTER YOUR PIN CODE appears on the screen, enter the universal code ‘0711' two times and follow by the system pin code ‘1234' to access the Access Restrictions menu
  4. Select [Enable pin protection] and press the cursor [Right]
  5. Select [ON] and press the [OK] button to confirm
  6. Press the cursor [Left] once to return to the previous menu
  7. Press the cursor [Down] to select CHANGE PIN CODE and press the cursor [Right]
  8. At the row ENTER YOUR SYSTEM PIN; enter the system pin code ‘1234'
  9. Then enter an easily remembered new four-digit pin code and enter the new pin code the second time for confirmation
  10. Press the [Digital menu] button to exit the menu

To set / change the PIN-code in analogue mode:

  1. In analog mode, press the [Home] on the remote control to access the home menu
  2. Use the cursor buttons [Up][Down][Left][Right] to select [Setup] and press the [OK] button to confirm
  3. Press the cursor [Down] to select [Features]and press the cursor [Right]
  4. Press the cursor [Down] to select [Change code] and press the cursor [Right]
  5. When the prompt CURRENT CODE appears on the screen, enter the universal code ‘0711'
  6. Then enter an easily remembered new 4-digit pin code and enter the new pin a second time for confirmation
  7. Press the [Back] button to exit the menu
