My Philips Semi-Automatic 2000 Espresso Machine’s button is flashing
Published on 10 July 2024
To find out why a warning indicator or button is flashing on your Philips Semi-Automatic 2000 Espresso Machine, please read our article below.
During the initial use, a rinsing cycle is required to properly clean the water circuit, brewing system, and hot water/steam wand.
Before powering on, ensure the coffee bean container and water tank are properly installed, and the hot water/steam wand points at the drip tray.
When you power on your espresso machine, all the indicators and buttons will flash, indicating the start of the rinsing cycle. Pressing any button will start the rinsing. Water will be dispensed from the brewing spout and the hot water/steam wand until rinsing is done. Then, the light of the Power On button will flash, indicating the machine is heating up.
When the flashing stops and all the brewing buttons light up, the machine is ready for use.
Please descale the machine using the detailed instructions in your User Manual or check the article “How to descale my Philips Semi-Automatic 2000 Espresso Machine”.
If a white light is flashing, the machine is heating up for the hot water/steam function.
If a red light is flashing:
The water tank is almost empty. Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the “MAX” indication. Then press any buttons for brewing espresso, double espresso, or capsule coffee, the light will go off in 2-5 seconds and the machine is ready for use.
The pressure is too high during the extraction. Unlock the portafilter from the brew position and rinse the cup filter. Then press any buttons for brewing espresso, double espresso, or capsule coffee, and the light will go off in 2-5 seconds. The machine is ready for use.
If there is a stable red light, the machine is dispensing hot water.
