My Philips Handheld Steamer or Steam Iron does not remove wrinkles

Published on 07 April 2025

If your Philips Handheld Steamer or Steam Iron does not remove wrinkles from the garment, please find out the possible causes and solutions below.

Different types of fabrics would need different steam modes when steam ironing. For fabrics such as silk, wool, cotton, and linen, more steam would be needed to get wrinkles out efficiently. You can use the stronger steam on your steamer. If your Philips Handheld Steamer or Steam Iron has settings for different types of fabrics, please select according to the fabric you are ironing for optimal results.

Your Philips Handheld Steamer or Steam Iron has a dry iron mode, where no steam will be generated when used. Furthermore, when set to descaling mode, the appliance does not heat up or produce steam unless the descaling process is started by additional steps. Please check if you are using the right mode when steam is required.

When ironing vertically or horizontally, hold your Philips Handheld Steamer or Steam Iron against the garment, making sure the soleplate is in direct contact with the fabric. Use your other hand to pull the sides of the garment to stretch it. This will help you achieve the best possible ironing results.
