My Philips Air Purifier’s air quality ring color does not change

Published on 04 April 2023

When the color of the air quality ring light in your Philips Air Purifier stays the same, there could be several causes. Learn more here.

Note: All images shown below are generic representations only; there can be some differences among specific appliances.

The air quality sensor is dirty

The air quality sensor (D in the image below) needs to be clean and dry for your air purifier to work properly and for the ring to provide the correct indications.

Please clean the air quality sensor with moistened cotton buds and then dry it with dry cotton buds.

Polluted air is coming into the room

When polluted air continues entering your room, then the air that has been cleaned your air purifier will be replaced by new polluted air. Due to this, the air quality ring light in your Philips Air Purifier won’t change.

Please check the quality of the air outside the room (you can do this using Air Matters or a similar app). If the quality of the air outside is bad, make sure to close all windows so the air that is purified does not become polluted again.

New furniture was added into the room

New furniture can emit gases for several weeks. These gases would be sensed by the air quality sensor and the quality ring light will not change.
